Currently seeking an instrumentation & systems-focused Project Engineer on a permanent staff basis for a weather technology company based in Dyce, Aberdeen.
This role will involve both office-based work and site-based work at airports across the UK, where you’ll be maintaining systems and assisting in installations. A Driving Licence is essential for this position, as is UK citizenship due to security clearance requirements for UK airports.
The Project Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of a project – project management, client liaison, design, build, test, training and documentation – ensuring projects are delivered to meet agreed timescales and costs.
- Fault finding and repair of failed equipment and systems down to Line Replaceable Unit (LRU).
- Installing, commissioning and routine maintenance of meteorological systems.
- Troubleshooting faults in systems and giving backup to engineers while working on site.
- Supplier liaison for purchasing of equipment and supplies.
- Participating in quoting and tender process.
- Point of contact for customers requiring engineering support.
- Developing and testing of new and existing airport products.
- Promoting company’s systems to existing and potential customers.
Experience/Qualifications:
- A degree qualification in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or similar) would be preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
- Experience with AutoCAD would be advantageous.
